About Simon Vendin
Simon Vendin’s journey as a sculptor began when a friend one day, out of the blue, gave him a lump of clay. Later that evening that clay had been transformed into Simon’s first figure.
Just like in this first attempt, Simon still uses mostly his hands and thumbs when he knead and slowly chisels out the personalities that each sculpture represents. Every sculpture is unique, and Simon never knows in who or what it will be like.
Simon’s interest in people, and especially faces, runs as a red thread throughout his works of creativity. Artist, however, is a title that Simon does not feel quite comfortable with even though he admits that he has painted almost all his life.
